October is Bullying Prevention Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of bullying and promoting kindness, inclusion, and respect in our schools and communities. It is important for students, staff, and families to understand what bullying is and what it is not so that real issues can be addressed effectively. Bullying involves repeated and intentional behavior meant to hurt, intimidate, or exclude someone who has less power in the situation. Not every disagreement, teasing, or isolated conflict is considered bullying, but all unkind behavior should still be taken seriously and handled with care. By learning to recognize the difference, we can respond appropriately, support those involved, and create a safer and more positive environment for everyone.
