About Rappahannock County Public Schools
Rappahannock County is a rural community nestled next to the Shenandoah National Park and beautiful Skyline Drive. The small community of 7,348 residents prides itself on its scenic attraction and strives to preserve the serene nature of the county.
Rappahannock County Elementary School is a K-7 elementary school that houses approximately 600 students. RCES boasts small classes (typically 20 or less), highly qualified teachers and a well-rounded curriculum. In addition to a rigorous academic program, RCES provides electives in music, art, physical education, computer, library, band, chorus, Brain STAR Action Based Learning Lab, and Farm-to-Table.
Rappahannock County High School is a grade 8-12 high school that consists of approximately 300 students. The school provides a varied program of studies despite its small size, including AP Dual Enrollment and CTE courses. RCHS, a fully accredited school, operates with a modified block schedule with year-long options for English and Math.
